Getting Around in Naples

Piazza Dante
More Naples Photos
Getting There:

By air: Naples’ Capodochino Airport is 8km northeast of the city centre. It is connected to the city centre via the ‘Alibus’ which departs from outside the arrivals hall. This regular bus service first of all stops at Piazza Garibaldi at the train station and then at Piazza del Municipio, down by the port.

By train: Naples is the centre point of southern Italy’s train network. Napoli Centrale just east of the city centre at Piazza Garibaldi is where you will arrive if you are travelling to Naples via train.

By bus: Buses travelling to Naples also stop at Piazza Garibaldi.

Getting Around:

By underground: There are two underground lines operating across the city centre from Piazza Garibaldi to Mergellina on the other side of the city. They also go out to the city outskirts.

By funicular (tram): Three funiculars travel up the hill of Vómero.

By bus: Buses are the best way to get around the city if you don’t want to walk from one side of the city centre to the other. All stop at Piazza Garibaldi at some along their route.

The best way to get around the city centre is on foot as buses tend to get crowded.
